Every gentleman should have the opportunity to feel the bespoke quality of tailoring that goes into a made to measure jacket, not to mention the time and dedication. By subtly changing the accessories worn with it, this Argyll (or Argyle) jacket can easily alter its formality, for either day or evening wear.
How we make it:
All of our exquisitely tailored Balmoral Argyll jackets are made from top quality Barathea 100% pure new wool cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.
When to wear it:
The Argyll day/evening jacket suits almost any social occasion, such as dinners and Burns Suppers; balls, ceilidhs or other dances; weddings, graduations, or christenings; as well as Highland games or simply as general daywear.
What to wear it with:
The Argyll jacket is generally worn open, with a kilt in any tartan, and a belt and buckle. For daytime use you might wear your Argyll jacket with an ordinary collar and self-coloured tie plus day-wear sporran (when footwear is a matter of choice). As more formal dress for evening events it is perhaps better worn with a wing collar and bow tie plus semi-dress sporran, and ghillie brogues for shoes.
Your Choices:
The standard Argyll jacket is supplied in 15oz cloth, but if you prefer a lighter jacket you can choose the 13oz cloth. The lapels are available in either matching fabric or satin.

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
Jacket is of exquisite quality. I was surprised at the detail like the braided shoulder straps and the cut of the pockets. The made to measure jacket fit wonderfully. A far better experience then wearing my old "off-the-rack" Argyll.

This Argyll jacket goes well beyond my expectations in terms of quality and looks. It was better than the picture!! I just loved the fine looking nickel plated buttons. This jacket is very professional and I look forward to using it often(i'm told I look very very sharp in this!!). Not getting this item would be a real shame. if you put the vest with it, the effect is outstanding and noticeable. VERY ELEGANT
